Young people in Somerset spoke up—and we listened. The Highlight Youth Hubs are back with fresh venues and updated times, ready to make a difference where it matters most.
The Highlight Youth Hubs are part of a wider initiative tackling concerns around anti-social behaviour and violence in Somerset town centres. But they’re more than just a place to drop-in —they’re a gateway to youth services, support networks, and exciting activities that many young people might not even know exist.
Whether you’re a young person looking for guidance, a parent, carer, guardian, or someone who supports youth in any way—you’re invited to engage. The Highlight Youth Hubs are here for you.
📣 Help us spread the word! Share this with your networks and let’s work together to build safer, more supportive communities for Somerset’s youth.

Somerset’s Highlight Youth Hubs:
What is a Highlight Youth Hub?
- a temporary pop-up space (for 2hrs)
- run by local partners
- with a youth and community safety focus
- in higher footfall locations
- to promote youth safety in the community
Why do we have them?
- a survey of 1300 young people asked for adult presence in hotspot areas and more information about safety
- over 3000 young people engaged with a hub pilot in Taunton and Bridgwater
- hubs contributed to an overall reduction in violence effecting young people in specific hotspots
- the hubs collect experiences and views from young people that is used to inform practice
How can I get involved?
Email communitysafetyteam@somerset.gov.uk to:
- join sessions and offer advice or support about safety, health and wellbeing to young people and their families
- let us know of a location that would suit a pop-up hub (most locations for pop ups will be nominated by Neighbourhood Policing and One Teams, but email us if you are not linked with them)
- Inform the content/themes of any surveys that are carried out through the hubs
