New Dads’ Supporters Training

The New Dads’ Supporter Programme was created to help shift the focus from almost exclusively supporting mothers to a more balanced situation that recognises the important role that dads play in their children’s lives.

We know that when dads are happy and have a strong bond to their child that they have better mental and physical health, are more likely to be in employment and live longer, and there are positive outcomes for mum and baby.

Aimed at any professionals working with families around the perinatal period, this training will highlight the valuable role that fathers play but how they are often ignored or marginalised by our systems and may have unmet needs that can put them and their families at risk.

It will give you some tools to support with engaging men, signpost to resources aimed at fathers and share important public health resources. Join the growing number of professionals across the county that have taken part and are keen to change the narrative around engaging men.
