The Child Exploitation Initial Response Pathway (including Serious Youth Violence) provides a consistent, easy‑to‑follow process for practitioners when exploitation concerns arise. The pathway applies to all forms of exploitation, including Serious Youth Violence (SYV).
It supports quick recognition of risks, informed decision‑making, and clear multi‑agency action.
NOTICE – Spot the Signs Early
Practitioners are asked to observe any behaviours, patterns or environmental factors indicating vulnerability, grooming, or exploitation.
CHECK – Use the Exploitation Screening Tool
The Multi‑Agency Exploitation Screening Tool is used to assess risks, protective factors, and context. It ensures all agencies use the same indicators and language to understand what is happening for the child.
