FREE Active Bystander Behaviour training with SASP & NWG

SSCP is pleased to promote upcoming FREE Active Bystander Behaviour Training, this is a great opportunity for anyone involved in sport to learn what to do when faced with bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

Hosted and delivered by Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership (SASP) in collaboration with NWG, this Bystander Behaviour Training equips coaches, volunteers, parents, and club members with the tools to challenge harmful behaviour and foster a culture of respect.

  • Encourage fair play and mutual respect with coaches and spectators speaking up against negative and dangerous behaviour
  • Discourage aggression, inappropriate and harmful behaviour and improve the integrity of your sport
  • Set a powerful example across your club; learn about the ripple effect of positive behaviour

  • Understanding false consensus and societal norms
  • The pyramid of harm and its impact
  • Culture in sport and how it shapes behaviour
  • The impact of violence against women and girls
  • Legal context: Sexual Offences Act,
  • Consent, and Position of Trust
  • Tackling harassment in sport and the workplace
  • Practical intervention options and de-escalation techniques
  • Transformative conversations and group practice using sport-specific scenarios
