Children’s Autism Outreach Team (CAOT)

The Children’s Autism Outreach Team work with parents and their children with Autism aged 0-13 years.

The purpose of the service will be to support children and young people with autism (diagnosed or undiagnosed) facing barriers relating to education or undergoing a transition between settings. We recognise the importance of relationship building and will be continuing to meet with families across home and school settings.

Please note: from 1 April 2025 CAOT as a separate team will no longer exist in its current form. Workers will become Transition Workers in the new Virtual School. Most of the existing CAOT offer will feature in the new Virtual School.

The team will continue to provide advice and support for children and young people with autism. In addition, they will provide support for children and young people who are on the Children and Young People’s Neurodevelopmental Partnership Pathway or present as autistic but do not have a diagnosis.
