Every year social workers, leaving care workers, designated teachers and residential support staff have the opportunity to nominate the young people that they work with for recognition of their personal fantastic developments and achievements at the SiCC & SLCC Annual Achievement Awards.
The Annual Achievement Awards will be taking place on Thursday 24 July this year and celebrate Somerset’s children looked after and care leavers, giving them the opportunity to be the stars of the show.
Young people can be nominated across five categories (and can be nominated across multiple categories):
Personal Achievement
Showing resilience or personal development.
Positive Pastimes
Doing well in sport, music, arts, social activities or any hobbies or leisure activities that they take part in.
Education, Training and Employment
Virtual School award for their achievements at school, college, in training or at work.
Helping Others
Helping or making a difference for others.
Courage
Being brave in dealing with personal illness, traumatic experiences or in helping and supporting those around them.

Every young person nominated will be invited to attend the event with their nominator and guests, will receive a certificate and a gift voucher. With one winner from each category receiving a trophy for their achievements.
