Serious Youth Violence & Child Exploitation Conference 2024

Growing numbers of young people in Somerset are experiencing both criminal and sexual exploitation, and the prevalence of Serious Youth Violence has increased across England and Wales since 2014, with increasing numbers of Somerset young people affected.

We recognise that tackling Serious Youth Violence (SYV), Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) requires a collaborative approach involving multi-agencies working together with a focus on identification, prevention and early intervention.

To do this, we must bring organisations together to share information, data and intelligence and encourage them to work together. Our aim is to create a safer environment for our young people and reduce the incidence of serious youth crime and child exploitation in Somerset.
