From Monday 12th February the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) started the Highlight Youth Hubs with Young Somerset in both Bridgwater and Taunton, to provide support, advice and sign posting for young people.
The Taunton Hub: 3-5pm on Saturdays in McDonalds, East Street
The Bridgwater Hub: 4-6pm on Fridays in Coffee#1, Fore Street
The hubs are part of a series of initiatives being put in place to address some of the concerns raised by young people in a recent VRP survey relating to their experiences of anti social behaviour and violence in Bridgwater and Taunton town centres.
Young people told us that they don’t always feel safe in these area and that when they have concerns, they are not sure where to turn for help and advice.  They also told us that along with further education on these subjects, they would like access to supervised spaces and youth services.
