To strengthen prevention, it’s important we all play our role, especially in the best start in life and early years wider workforce. It’s crucial to engage dads and male carers as evidence suggests 70% of perpetrators are men.
The message is clear: where there are babies and families, there are opportunities for all of us to provide support and advice.
Somerset Interactive ICON Tool
The Somerset Interactive ICON tool has been developed by Public Health in collaboration with the partnership, to support staff in Somerset to access ICON resources and training as part of NAI (non-accidental injury) prevention, and to understand how their role could work with people to offer this crucial support and access the resources and training as part of NAI (non-accidental injury) prevention.
Please support us by cascading the interactive resource and embedding ICON and it’s messaging in your service or organisation.
If you are worried or concerned about a family needing more support, encourage them to speak to a GP, midwife or heath visitor.
Always follow your organisation’s safeguarding policy.
